Foam Planer

We offer 4 types of Plane Easy foam planers in a 16" or 24" size. I have attached a brochure and order form for reference. Here are the basic differences:

The electric motor model with the nylon brush is designed for use on open cell or ½ pound closed cell foam.
The pneumatic motor model with soft wire brush is used on open cell or ½ pound foam insulation.
The pneumatic motor model with the hard wire brush is recommended for 2-pound to 10-pound closed cell foam. This is our number one seller for installation of foam in new construction or home remodel projects.
The pneumatic motor model with carbide blades is primarily used on 2-pound to 10-pound closed cell foam that has been applied in larger areas such as a roof, commercial cold storage buildings, etc.

Mr. Jim Calman is a foam insulation contractor himself. He designed this tool and uses the machine on a daily basis. While the nylon or wire brush gives you the fairly smooth finish, Jim uses an electric vibrator sander on the projects needing a perfectly smooth finish.

One more note, the air motor operates most efficiently when air pressure is maintained at 125psi. An air compressor able to deliver 23cfm is necessary. For optimal use run a ¾" line from the compressor, the last 20' use a 1/2" airline.

This Foam Planer comes with Carbide Blade or Wire Brush. 24" or 16" Model available. The ideal tool to flush finish any spray-applied polyurethane form Pneumatically operated....simple...lightweight... and reliable. A basic, durable instrument to complement existing urethane spray equipment for all work or trades requiring flat, smooth finished surfaces. The wire brush and blade are 3-1/8" x 16" or 24" long. The wire brush and unbreakable carbide blade are interchangeable both carried in standard Fafnir Ball bearings for easy maintenance. Drive motor is in the handle for ease of use.
